Lawyer Referrals and Co-Counsel Agreements

Jackson Legal Services PLLC accepts fee-sharing arrangements with referring attorneys and co-counsel for personal injury matters in accordance with Maryland Rule 1.5, and DC Rule 1.5(e).

Frequently, attorneys receive leads for personal injury matters that do not align with their expertise or that require the assistance of an experienced personal injury attorney. Jackson Legal Services PLLC welcomes opportunities to collaborate with attorneys to maximize the chances of success for prospective clients.

Referrals

Personal Injury consists of a variety of sub-categories, including medical malpractice, car accidents, slip and fall and dog bite cases; just to name a few. Frequently, attorneys receive requests to handle matters outside of their expertise or geographic areas that may be better suited for another firm, such as Jackson Legal Services, PLLC.

We work with attorneys to provide representation for client’s whose cases fall within our practice and geographic areas, but outside of the referring attorney’s. We work with attorneys to develop fee arrangements consistent with the rules of professional responsibility

Co-Counsel Agreements

There are also times where combined resources and expertise enhance the chances of success. For these types of cases, our firm collaborates with other attorneys in a more significant way through co-counsel agreements. These agreements are tailored for the specific case and typically involve co-counsel working side-by-side with our Firm to increase the chance of helping the client reach their goals.
